John McAllister is an Energy Director at Mott MacDonald with more than three decades of experience delivering complex energy projects across Europe, the Middle East and South-East Asia. Having joined the company as a graduate in 1990, he has been based in the Middle East since 1998 and has played a leading role in the region’s evolving energy sector.
John’s expertise spans the full energy value chain, including conventional and renewable power generation, nuclear, transmission and distribution, and energy asset management. He combines deep technical knowledge with extensive commercial and leadership experience, overseeing the delivery of major programmes from concept and front-end engineering through to detailed design, construction supervision, and operational support.
He works closely with governments, utilities and private sector clients to shape energy strategies, deliver critical infrastructure and advance large-scale initiatives that support sustainability, energy security, and decarbonisation goals. His work includes supporting programmes aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and wider regional energy transition ambitions.
