Dermot Harte is Head of Water at WSP Middle East and leads teams of 90 water professionals across its offices in Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Riyadh. He works across the planning, design and delivery of Water infrastructure and his professional focus spans potable water, wastewater, irrigation, stormwater, desalination and wastewater treatment systems.
Dermot is engaged with the challenges created by rapid urban growth, water management and increasingly ambitious and complex infrastructure programs and integrating into these the broader needs of delivering resilient and sustainable infrastructure for growing communities.
Having worked on the challenges of extreme floods in Dubai from mitigations to future proofing, Dermot also supports private and public sector clients in resiliency measures including water use minimization, leakage management, rainwater harvesting, sustainable drainage and the use of technology to drive efficient delivery as well as efficient management of water systems.
