Dr. Basel Elkhapery joined AUD’s School of Engineering in Fall 2024 as an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering. His expertise spans construction management, Building Information Modeling (BIM), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and emerging technologies in the built environment. Dr. Elkhapery is passionate about integrating AI, digital technologies, and immersive learning tools into engineering education and practice. His research focuses on advancing construction productivity, sustainability, and decision-making through AI-driven solutions, automation, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and digital construction technologies. Through both his teaching and research, he strives to cultivate innovation, critical thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset among future engineers, preparing them to address the evolving challenges of the construction industry
